U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom

In September 2013, President Obama appointed Zogby to the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), where he twice served as the commission’s Vice Chair.

USCIRF is an independent, bipartisan U.S. federal government commission, the first of its kind in the world, dedicated to defending the universal right to freedom of religion or belief abroad.

Zogby was reappointed to a second term in 2015 and concluded his service in May 2017.
