Paul Pillar is a 28-year veteran of the CIA and the National Intelligence Council, where he served in a number of positions, including chief of analysis at the CIA’s Counterterrorist Center, and National Intelligence Officer for the Near East and South Asia. Pillar is a nonresident senior fellow at the Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence at the Brookings Institution, a nonresident senior fellow of the Center for Security Studies in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, and a contributor at The National Interest.
